The Sparkplugs today announced that they have come to terms with Robert Mackey, a 36-year-old reliever they've been scouting for a while.
Mackey will earn $1,490,000 a year over 2 years and is expected to play a key role with the club.
In his career Mackey has compiled a 41-32 mark in 646 games with 576 strikeouts and 183 walks in 767.1 innings. He has been credited with 35 saves and has a 4.42 ERA. |

The Cannons pulled out all the stops today to announce the signing of reliever Yosho Maskai. The 33-year-old is one of the game's preeminent playmakers and has definitely proven why he was such an attractive signing.
The contract is a 2-year deal worth $6,420,000.
Since making his league debut Maskai has made 346 appearances and nailed down 15 saves with 247 Ks in 369 innings. In his career he has a record of 16 wins and 20 losses and a 4.98 ERA. |

Happy times in Boston as the Pilgrims and star first baseman Vincent Dodd put the finishing touches on a $26,960,000 contract extension that will keep the 28-year-old in town 2 years longer.
The signing is great news for Boston because players of this caliber are hard to come by.
Over his career Dodd is batting .296 with 192 doubles, 28 triples, 153 home runs, 626 RBIs and scored 583 runs in 877 games. |
