Monday, May 3rd, 2021: A battle-tested Antonio Guzman declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 33-year-old Monterey left fielder collected the Dixie League Player of the Week Award.
He wrapped up the week with a .500 average, 11 hits in 22 at-bats, 3 home runs, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
On the season, Guzman is batting .292 with 3 home runs and 10 RBIs. He has played in 20 games. |

Monday, May 3rd, 2021: 23-year-old Michael Jones made a few Hickory headlines during this past week as the rookie second baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Yankee League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 17 hits in 34 at-bats to put up a .500 average. Jones collected 2 home runs, 3 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
To date this season Jones is hitting .315 with 3 home runs. |

Saturday, May 1st, 2021: Santa Cruz's Víctor Cardenas used his full arsenal today to shoot down Columbia 7-0. All day long, he exhibited fine command of all his pitches, giving up 1 walk and striking out 7. Cardenas allowed the Columbia 3 hits in the victory.
