That's what the fans at Mission Control Field got to see today in the San Antonio 7-6 triumph over the Apollos. Isaac Infante of the Houston came to the plate 5 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against the Gunslingers. "It was a great day for me, but a disappointing one for our fans," he said to the reporters covering the game. "I wish I could have won it for them. They like stats, but they love winning."
In the postgame press conference the San Antonio skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink. I am just glad we escaped with a win. Infante was lethal."
I. Infante hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off T. O'Grady in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
So far this season Infante has hit .346 with 34 home runs, 98 RBIs and and scored 88 times. | |
