 | Friday, February 19th, 2010: Alaska Announces Deal for Veteran 1B Juanito Diaz and Alaska have come to a mutual understanding and have agreed to a $10,190,000, 1 year deal. Seen as a shrewd baseball mind, Diaz could well prove helpful in teaching younger players how to play the game "the right way" over his tenure. Diaz has played in 911 games with a .305 lifetime batting average. Among his 1072 hits are 167 doubles, 7 triples and 153 home runs. He also has scored 544 runs and driven in 614 runs. |
