Friday, February 4th, 2011: Veteran Burke Signs 2-Year Deal
The euphoria surrounding a big name deal can sometimes overshadow the deal itself. Occasionally a team will mortgage its future to make a big splash, though no one in Los Angeles was worried about that today as the club finalized terms with Dennis Burke.

Burke will earn $5,250,000 per year over 2 years.

On his lifetime ledger sheet, the 36-year-old Burke has won 106 and lost 123 with a 4.37 ERA.

Friday, February 4th, 2011: Los Angeles Announces Deal for Veteran CF
Ending months of speculation, the Alphas finalized a deal with Ronnie West earlier today, making the center fielder a very happy man. He'll be making an estimated $27,730,000 a year for 2 years.

In his career West is hitting .305 with a total of 270 home runs.

Monday, October 25th, 2010: Rumors Swirling in Los Angeles; Piper Wants Out
The Alphas may be close to working out a deal to trade Finn Piper. That's the latest news from the rumor mill. Piper, the 37-year-old second baseman, has said privately that he will not balk at a trade to another team.
