Jose Pazos of the Lubbock Locomotives proved that you can step out of the shadows and onto the stage if you've got the talent and the drive to hone your skills. Hard work, long hours and a tireless resolve paid off for him today in the form of the Pioneer League AAA Silver Slugger.
Pazos hit for a .366 average while collecting 170 hits, 19 doubles, 6 triples, 25 home runs, 89 RBIs and scoring 92 times.

| Saturday, August 21st, 2010: Pazos and Phillips Fight, Suspended 3 Games
When fights happen, suspensions are not far behind. That axiom was held to be true today when Lubbock's Jose Pazos and Honolulu's Phillip Phillips were given a temporary vacation from the game, courtesy of the league commissioner's office.
They both were suspended for 3 games for their actions in a recent ruckus between the two teams. Both benches cleared when Pazos charged Phillips.
Both players have accepted their fate and will begin serving their suspensions immediately. Neither would talk to reporters about the confrontation.
This season Pazos is swinging the bat at a .368 pace. He has hit 19 home runs and scored 78 times, while driving in 67. His on-base percentage is .454 and he has played in 103 games.
This year Phillips has registered 5 wins and 20 losses in 30 starts with a 8.60 ERA while registering 113 strikeouts and 100 walks in 134 innings.

 | Friday, August 13th, 2010: Gurrola, Fernandez Suspended for Fracas
There was a mass free-for-all yesterday at Caterpillars Ballpark. Both dugouts emptied when Indianapolis's Sean Gurrola and Lubbock's Lorenzo Fernandez scuffled with one another after some heated words.
In an official statement today, the league commissioner suspended both parties for 2 games.
Thus far this year Gurrola has hit .353 with no home runs and 1 RBIs.
In 23 starts this season Fernandez has notched a 6-8 record and a 5.40 ERA.
