Wallace Callender of the Little Rock Lumberjax had a fine season this year and today he accepted the A Silver Slugger for 2010.
The 21-year-old first baseman put up a .346 average and a .428 on-base percentage, piling up 138 hits, 40 doubles, 3 triples, 11 home runs, 69 RBIs and 72 runs scored.

It seemed that Cook County center fielder Dong-ju Kim could do no wrong today, but it still didn't come out right. The Jokers still dropped the game to the Lumberjax by the score of 13-6. He did all he could, rapping out 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but in the end, Little Rock prevailed in the ballgame at Boomerangs Ballpark.
"I felt real good today, but my best just wasn't enough. We didn't play well enough to win. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play. The balls just fell in for base hits. Some days they do that," Kim explained in the postgame press interview.
D. Kim singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In 2010 Kim is hitting .365, batted in 11 runs with 1 home run and 31 runs scored.

 | Wednesday, July 21st, 2010: Lumberjax Chill Hernández's Hot Streak
The Little Rock Lumberjax pitching did its job today, holding hot-hitting Luis Hernández hitless in 3 at-bats during a 3-1 victory over the Santa Fe Aztecs at Martians Ballpark. This disappointing performance ended his 21-game hitting streak.
"I'm a little down right now," Hernández told BNN after the game. "I couldn't get anything going when the team needed me and I hated to see the streak end, too."
Hernández is currently hitting at a .372 pace with 7 home runs, 68 RBIs and has scored 36 times.
