| Breaking News | | Saturday, October 9th, 2010: Ruckus Reaps 5-Game Suspensions New York and Alaska team officials have been notified by the league office that the Gothams Sean Sackett and the Pipeliners Doc Bower will be suspended 5 games each for their altercation in yesterday's game at Gotham Park. They were the two main combatants in the bench-clearing brawl.
Thus far this season Sackett is hitting .305 with 21 home runs, 83 RBIs and 112 runs scored. He has 202 hits in 662 at-bats and has played in 157 games.
To date this year, Bower shows a 18-7 record, 31 starts, 225.1 innings, 318 strikeouts and a 2.64 ERA. | | Tuesday, October 5th, 2010: Alston No-Hits Alaska It was a terrific day for Edward Alston of the New York Gothams at Gotham Park. He stood out with a fantastic 7-0 no-hitter against the Alaska Pipeliners.
"I knew I had a No-No going in about the sixth inning, when I noticed no one was talking to me anymore," he said, referring to the time honored superstition of teammates avoiding the pitcher so they won't jinx the no-hitter. "Don't let people fool you. Everybody on the field and in the ballpark knows what's happening. They just pretend they don't."
For the game Alston totaled 3 walks and 8 strikeouts in a very strong outing.
The New York pitching coach marveled at his performance, "His mechanics were perfect and I don't think he threw one bad pitch in the whole game. He was that good."
So far this year Alston has made 35 starts, tossed 236.2 innings, struck out 282 batters and walked 63. His record is 18-6 with a 2.74 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .216 batting average. | | Wednesday, September 29th, 2010: Barnett Gets Number 2000 "It would have been a lot nicer, if my 2000th hit had won the game," lamented Samuel Barnett after the Alaska Pipeliners had been tripped up by the Boston Pilgrims, 4-2, spoiling his big day. The Pipeliners left fielder gained access to the exclusive 2000-hit club by going 2-for-4 in the game played at Mammoth Dome.
"The standing ovation by the fans is not something I will ever forget," Barnett related to the press after the game. "I think even the Pilgrims fans were cheering me."
During his career Barnett has hit .317 with 2000 hits, 51 home runs, 642 RBIs and scored 926 runs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record on the road | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 0-0, .000 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 0-0, .000 PCT |
